Wastewater reuse technology
GENERAL INTRODUCTION
The reuse of wastewater after treatment is usually done at a higher stage of treatment, with the main treatment principle based on membrane filtration technology.
Depending on the purpose of reuse and the quality requirements of the treated water, determine which type of membrane is applied.
Below are the technical characteristics of the membranes used in water reuse technology.
MICROMET FILTER (MF) AND ULTRA FILTER (UF)
Membranes MF and UF are used to separate suspended solids and suspensions from water by membrane technology with pore sizes in the range of 20nm - 5µm under low pressure. This filtration system acts as a safety step for the rear RO system (if applicable). The common application of this membrane is MBR technology (see more in section Biological treatment process and Wastewater reuse technology).
Application in reuse: the treated wastewater can be reused for road washing, car washing, irrigation, toilet flushing.
